Ideas may come from the outside, but they go through all the machinery and the machinery is formed and set up in a certain way based on how you´ve been living and what you´ve been doing, so they´re going to come out changed.

Nightly dreams are not my subject of interest. It rarely happens that I use a nightly dream for a story or painting etc. But you can let your mind wander during the day - and suddenly you catch an idea. Sometimes ideas that make you dream become magnets: They simply attract even more ideas.

When I am home on my own, these dark ideas come to my mind, the nightmares are always present.

You can learn a lot in art school but if you don´t have something inside you to begin with you´ll still wind up with a nifty bunch of nothing.
